Menopause can bring uncomfortable symptoms such as incontinence in several different forms. Even women in their younger age can suffer frequent bouts of urinary leakage during pregnancy, after giving birth, and sometimes even during having sex. But menstruation seems to bring out more occasions of uncontrollable incontinence. This inability to control your bladder can happen when you put pressure on yourself by wrenching your gut due to laughing or yelling, sneezing and coughing. The malady worsens if your bladder is full. Overactive bladder can be a strong, uncontrollable feeling that may result in continuous “leak” or urination. Even the sound of running water can trigger the urge to “leak”. That’s why, when a woman is in her menopausal stage, she tends to control the “leaking” thus making things worse for her urethra and the surrounding bladder areas. If you experience continuous incontinence, there is leakage of urine more or less all of the time without warning. You need to openly discuss this with your doctor so he can prescribe you overactive bladder drugs.
Depending on the type of incontinence you are experiencing, your doctor may recommend from several types of treatment. Antibiotics are sometimes required to treat infection. Drugs can be taken that control abnormal bladder contractions or to create contraction in an over distended bladder. There are some overactive bladder medication or drugs like Vesicare and Enablex which target the nerves that control the bladder thus helping to control urination but then, again, consult your doctor first and ever do some self-medication for this kind of malady.
But as always as ever, other people are knowledgeable about the menace of over-use or misuse of medication. There are even some who believe that drugs, although can cure an ailment, don’t cure at all. If you are one of these persons who have incontinence and you want to get rid of it fast, safe and worry-free, you can opt for a natural treatment for overactive bladder. Why, there are even some treatments that don’t require consuming anything, not even natural supplements or medication. The most famous is the Kegel exercise which is even strongly suggested to treat males with the problem of premature ejaculation.
