Yeast infections are quite common and many people don’t really see them as a big deal - more a nuisance than anything else, but for those who don’t have chronic yeast infections or have never had one before; knowing what to look for as far as yeast infection symptoms go could not only save you a lot of time and frustration, but it could also help you know when it’s just a yeast infection and when it’s something more serious.

Some yeast infection symptoms are similar to those of other conditions that are more serious so you don’t want to waste time trying yeast infection treatments only to find out that it’s actually something else. If you’ve never had one before; a visit to the doctor will help you confirm what you’ve got going on down there, but knowing the following signs could help too.

Yeast Infection Symptoms

1 White or yellowish discharge that is thick in consistency

2 Discharge that smells of yeast

3 Redness and irritation

4 Itching

5 White spots on rash

6 Burning and pain

7 Frequent urination

8 Pain during intercourse

You may have all of these symptoms while some people only experience one or two and some people don’t have any symptoms at all! As suggested, a visit to the doctor is the only way to all out confirm a diagnosis once and for al. Those who have had a yeast infection before or suffer from chronic yeast infections can usually spot them without having to go to the doctor, but someone who has never had one really would be best off to get a proper diagnosis since getting the right treatment is important as is taking certain precautions, like keeping clean and dry, avoiding tight clothing that could cause excess moisture and irritation and refraining from sex until things have cleared up.
